Laura Pachón - About the Artist
My artistic practice explores intimacy and connection through documentation and its constant transformation. Between Barcelona, my city of origin, and Paris, where I live and work, I collect fragments of life — direct and indirect portraits, objects and moments —that fuel a reflection on memory and human connections. Photography, painting, digital art, sculpture, and video intertwine in a cycle where each medium inspires the other, creating a back-and-forth between trace and reinvention.
Guided by a sensitivity to nostalgia and the everyday, I archive and transform these moments to reveal their essence while opening up a space of aesthetic freedom. My approach, close to an intimate diary, questions the boundaries between art and life, between what is captured and what is reinvented. I draw inspiration from artists such as Nan Goldin, Allan Kaprow, and Sophie Calle, who each explore art as a form of human connection.
My projects are deeply interconnected, as they are to life itself. They are meant to be experienced as processes in motion, where the unfolding and transformation are more vital than any final result. From raw images to abstraction, it is precisely this ongoing metamorphosis that keeps art inseparable from life.
